The Hempsmith Runway Recap

The Hempsmith Runway is a sustainable fashion show that highlights local designers and sustainable materials. Hempsmith is helping change the culture of fashion, with a new emphasis on diversity and sustainability. Last fall, on October 22nd, 2022, designers, models, and slow fashion enthusiasts gathered at The Plant in Pittsboro, NC for the viewing of the Hempsmith Runway.

There were seven collections from local designers and brands that shared the runway with Hempsmith. They were: No Punching Bag, Trapsours, sladesign, Zig and Sloane Lau-Ren, New Karma For Old Threads, Ella’s Clothing, and The Official Queen B. Each collection brought their own flare to sustainable fashion. Some showcased looks featured full piecework denim, botanical dyes and prints, upcycled jackets, reclaimed punching bags, and many more radical ways of creating low-impact clothing.

Check out looks from all the collections here.

It was an incredible night admiring local sustainable clothing. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves and we thank you for being a part of the slow fashion movement.

Join us at the next Hempsmith Runway on October 13th, 2023 at The Plant in Pittsboro, NC.
